Wolseley Hall

near Rugeley, Staffordshire - Baronet Wolseley

"Wolseley Hall is situated in a valley close to the old coach road between London and Liverpool. It is about two miles from Rugeley and seven from Stafford. The house was considerably rebuilt by Sir Charles, the seventh Baronet.

The family of Wolseley have resided here for more than seven centuries. In the reign of Edward the First, Ralph Wolseley was one of the Barons of the Exchequer; from him descended Robert Wolseley, who was created a Baronet by King Charles the First."
