Hutton Hall

near Guisborough, Yorkshire - Pease family

Hutton Hall was erected by Mr Joseph Whitwell Pease, from the designs of Mr Waterhouse, the architect. The estate on which it is built was bought of Mr George Reed, of Whitby.

The style is domestic Gothic of an early type, built of red brick with stone facings, the south front commanding a view of the picturesque Cleveland hills.

The portion of the estate surrounding the mansion was part of the grant of Guisborough Abbey lands to Thomas Chaloner by Edward the Sixth.
